Tiana Lanier-Cherry  M.A., LMFT
Children, Adolescents & Adults

Hello, my name is Tiana Lanier-Cherry.

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a Minor in Sociology from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.  After that, I went on to earn my Master’s in Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy at La Salle University in Philadelphia, PA.  I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in North Carolina.

I have been working in the mental health field for six years now.  I have worked one-on-one with children with different diagnosis, worked as a Crisis Worker, been a Family-Based Therapist, which is also known as Intensive in Home Therapy, and worked in a mental hospital as a Mental Health Technician and Therapist.

While working as a Family-Based Therapist the model I used was Eco-systemic Structural Family Therapy. However, the approach I take is focusing on your history, how your experiences impact your current functioning. I also focus on how different aspects of your lives impacts you functioning such as gender, ethnicity, and social economic status to name a few. I use a Collaborative and integrative approach. I believe that you have the answers, and I am a professional there to guide you when needed.   You are the expert of your life!

I provided a safe environment by using a nonjudgement approach and creating space for all parties to express themselves.  I am open to feedback and learning from you.

I have a passion for working with LGBTQQIA+, infertility, PMDD diagnoses, and all social economic classes.
