Hi, I am Shery.

As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, I try hard to create a safe and non-judgmental place where clients are able to explore what bothers them and improve the quality of their lives.

I treat adolescents (ages 14+) and adults using individual, family and/or couple sessions.

I specialize in working with those who have experienced trauma, have chronic illness or are caring for someone with a chronic condition, have suffered loss of all types and I have training in numerous modalities such as DBT, TF-CBT, art therapy and holistic therapies.

I am also a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist and have experience working with those struggling with addiction and recovery issues. I also worked as an Alateen sponsor for 11 years mentoring children who grew up in homes where addiction was present.

In addition, I have years of experience working in major teaching hospitals and healthcare systems working with staff, emergency and trauma patients and their families.

I use an integrative style of therapy that may start with emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Brief Solution Focused Therapy but may branch out to encompass other constructs as we progress.

I use a collaborative and integrative approach that promotes a strong alliance and allows for open and honest communication between myself and my clients.

Within this framework clients develop feelings of safety and freedom to challenge behaviors and beliefs which help them discover new attitudes that promote change.

By creating new avenues for change clients are able to experience increased personal growth and empowerment that results in healthier, more productive fulfilling life experiences.

My goal is to assist clients in gaining the knowledge and tools to reach their fullest potential and lead fulfilling lives.
