SeKesha Chestnut

M.Ed, LCMHC-A

Hello, My name is SeKesha Chestnut.

I received my Bachelor of Science Degree from Saint Augustine’s University and Master of Education Degree in School Counseling from Liberty University. I have over 20 years of mental health and counseling experience. My counseling experience ranges from correctional counseling, mental health counseling and academic counseling. I work with children (7+), adolescents (11+) and adults in individual sessions.

As a clinician, my theoretical orientation (counseling techniques) are very eclectic. Because I have had a myriad of eclectic counseling experiences and training,  I am able to adapt and meet my clients where they are on their journey. I utilize the following counseling techniques: Person Centered, Solution Focused, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive behavioral therapy. In addition to mental health counseling as a Licensed School Counselor, I can also provide academic counseling, career and college counseling, and assist with any questions regarding educational plans such as 504’s or IEP’s.

Therapy is a safe space to explore your beliefs, values, concerns and to become in tune to your true self. Therapy is a journey that has the ability to ignite positive change in your life. It is my goal to help all my clients reach their highest potential in life and to move forward and live a happy, productive life by giving them tools to be successful.
