Raymond Pantaleo

Graduate Student Intern

Hello, my name is Raymond Pantaleo.

I am currently a graduate student intern at Campbell University enrolled in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) program. Before that, I received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from American Military University.

I served 22 years in the United States Air Force and retired in 2021. My experience in the military taught me just how much trauma, anxiety, depression, and grief can effect a person’s everyday life.

I decided to become a counselor because I saw just how many people struggle with mental health and I wanted to be there for them.

My philosophy is that the client is the expert on their own life.

In therapy, my role is to empower you to uncover the sources of distress and help find ways to heal as you move forward.

I believe a trusting relationship between the therapist and the client is important because starting therapy can be scary. At times things that come up in a session may feel raw and vulnerable. I always strive to bring my authentic self to sessions and I encourage my clients to do the same.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned through my journey to becoming a counselor, it’s that I have a passion for working with clients struggling with grief and trauma. I am humbled to be trusted with their stories and honored to walk with them as they adapt to life after these overwhelming events.
