Molly Byrom MSW, LCSW
Children, Adolescents & Adults
Hello, my name is Molly Byrom.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina.
I graduated from the University of Alabama with a Master’s degree in Social Work. My professional career began in Washington, DC, where I worked in the foster care system, and for a teen pregnancy prevention non-profit. The systems theory drives my practice, which states that behavior is influenced by several factors in a person’s life: family, social belonging, spirituality, community, culture and socioeconomic status.
In my work with children ages 4 and older and their parents, I use play therapy to promote family healing. With adolescents and adults, I employ Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
I have a passion for working with the LGBTQIA+ community, and/or individuals who are navigating faith and spirituality.
With a cultural humility approach, I do not claim to be an expert, but commit to being sensitive to the experiences of others. Everyone has inherent dignity and worth, and deserves to be provided with a warm, non-judgmental space. You are the expert of your own life, and I am here to help you identify and practice new ways of living.
