Julie Jensen MSW, LCSWA

Children, Adolescents & Adults

Hello, my name is Julie Jensen.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina.

I raised my family and then made my way back to school to finish my Bachelor’s in Liberal Studies at Oregon State University and then a Master’s in Social Work from Western New Mexico University.

Most recently, my focus has been caring for older adults and working with teens struggling with depression, anxiety, self-harm and other mental health issues in an intensive out-patient (IOP) setting both in-person and virtual.

I am experienced in trauma informed care and LGBTQ affirmative models. I also have an advocacy background in domestic violence and sexual trauma.

I believe you are the expert of your life. I am here to offer a safe place to help you work through issues while you improve your mental health to live a happy life. My goal is to provide non-judgmental support as you adjust to challenging life changes or address relationship difficulties.

I use a strengths-based perspective to embrace the inherent messiness of working through struggles. I believe cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) can be two strong tools to help you develop new ways of thinking, change problem behaviors and build resiliency.

The process can be unpredictable, especially when you realize how strong you really are and maybe just needed a little clarity to take your next steps!
