Dr. Eric Tucker, PhD LCSW
Children, Adolescents & Adults
Hi, my name is Eric Tucker.
I graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a Bachelors Degree in Social Work.
I was an accomplished Division I track & field scholar-athlete, youth mentor, and community advocate for under-served communities in the metro-New Orleans area. I then went to Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA, to graduate with a Masters Degree in Social Work.
In addition to having 19 years of social work experience, I am an Adjunct Faculty member of the NC State University Department of Social Work and offer supervision for associated level clinicians seeking full licensure.
I have worked with all ages across a broad range of concerns, including work with individuals, couples, and family therapy.
I am especially qualified to address stress-related problems, and value helping each person attain the highest level of holistic health and wellness.
I also value your expertise, and worth and dignity as a person. Therefore, I fully appreciate the wealth of wisdom that each person brings to our joint effort to address each therapeutic concern.
Out of disappointing moments and immeasurable difficulties comes the opportunity for magnificent measures of success and redemption. As we embrace these opportunities for greatness collaboratively, having a therapist that is innovative and motivational is critical.
My training and experience in the public and private sectors has shaped my approach to working with clients. I have a realistic view of life's challenges and use a collaborative relationship with clients, that focuses on genuine solutions, identification of your innate strengths, and exploring ways to improve overall wellness.
Whether you or a family member is feeling anxious, depressed, having relationship problems, or difficulties managing anger/unwanted emotions
having an experienced and compassionate therapist is key.
I am interactive in sessions with a warm and encouraging presence. I have a good sense of humor and tend to help people feel at ease.
My approach is supportive yet challenging, and I tend to create a more laid-back, comfortable experience.
