Anju Verma  MSW, LCSW

Executive Director and Founder

Hello - I am Anju Verma, Founder of DRG Counseling, Inc.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and received my MSW (Masters of Social Work) from the University Of North Carolina @ Chapel Hill in 2000.

I have over 20 years of experience working with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues in inpatient psychiatric and outpatient behavioral health settings.  I provide Individual and Family Counseling and work with all populations such as children, adolescents and adults.

My goal as a therapist is to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment in which my clients can explore their emotional needs, discuss behavioral issues and overcome barriers that limit their full potential. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in my work with individuals and families.

I incorporate an Interactive and Strengths Based Approach with my clients in creating a partnership with them, which is necessary for development of goals, healthy boundaries, and empowerment for change.

By directly communicating client strengths and modeling new behaviors, I like to offer my clients the opportunity to achieve milestones, which leads to increased self-esteem and more satisfying relationships.

I truly believe that understanding our challenges and roadblocks, opens the door to new attitudes and creates an interest in changing our behaviors.

I have a genuine passion in seeing individuals attain personal growth.  Cultural sensitivity is also very crucial to understanding the backdrop in my work with individuals and families. I speak several different Indian dialects.

I am also very passionate about Quality Control and Performance Improvement and serve as a CARF International Behavioral Health Surveyor (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) .
