Alicia Wiggins  LCMHCS

Children, Adolescents & Adults

Hi, my name is Alicia Wiggins.

I began my professional career as an educator in Detroit, Michigan.  After moving to Raleigh in 2007, I continued working with students, in the school setting, as a Counselor.

Seeing the need for students to have an outreach beyond family and school, I completed coursework for my professional counseling license in 2010.

I received my Master of Arts in School Counseling from Eastern Michigan University in April of 2007; my
National Counselor Certification in August of 2007; and my Professional Counselor License in June of 2010.

I hold certifications in the following areas:

  • State of North Carolina Board of Education License
  • National Certified Counselor (License # 226194)
  • Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (License # S7989)

As an outpatient therapist, I am able to work with clients ages 10 and up creating an environment where people feel safe to explore life’s challenges and work toward finding ways to overcome and feel successful in their life’s journey.

Counseling Process

Our sessions will use Solution Focused Counseling strategies, in addition to other therapeutic modalities. It is important for clients to be able to readily
identify an issue, set goals, and assess what strategies may be useful in reaching their goals.

It is my goal to help clients learn how to make better and more effective choices, as well as, take responsibility for their actions.

Areas of Expertise:

  • Child and adult individual counseling
